Cycling PEI

Cycling PEI will be operating the East Royalty Rigid Riders Mountain Bike Club which meets rain or shine May Through September. Clinics will be held on rainy evenings in the Hall, and will cover topics such as basic bike maintenance, first aid and trail building. The club is for kids 5-17 and adults 18 and over. Cost of the program is $60 for the year and includes a free jersey for kids 12-17 and t-shirts for 5-11 and adults, and includes insurance.

The Rigid Riders are a Cycling PEI sanctioned mountain bike club committed to providing mountain biking opportunities for children, youth and adults. The club is dedicated to teaching technical riding skills to riders of all ability levels. From beginners to experienced riders, the Rigid Riders offer a fun, safe, and exciting riding environment for everyone.

The club will meet every Thursday at 6:15 PM at the Hillsborough Park Community Centre and ride the new East royalty trail. This year, evening lesson plans will begin at 6:30PM and will cover different technical riding skill each Thursday. The lesson plan will be followed by an on-trail ride until 8:00PM. Your Rigid Rider membership also gives you free access to the Tuesday Night MTB rides at Brookvale.

Register online at http://cpei.ca/clubs or forms can be picked up at the Hillsborough Park Hall on the Thursday night rides.

No bike, No problem!!! Rigid Riders also provide several mountain bikes for all riders who want to try mountain biking but don’t own a bike. If there is financial issues, Cycling PEI may be willing to lower the membership fee.

Youth on the Coast

Thank you to everyone envolved in the Youth on the Coast conference. A few of us from the HHH youth group were lucky enough to be apart of this and we had a blast! We really liked the bonfires, games and making the videos. We met a lot of great people and learned a lot about how important our coast is. We understand that it is time for the whole world to step up and help take care of our waters because if we do not the next generation will not be so lucky to enjoy these wonders of the world. Thanks again for inviting us to come along!
